What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 checks?

Level 1 (CRC) searches the RCMP CPIC database for criminal convictions only – adult criminal convictions and summary convictions within the past 5 years.

Level 2 (CRJMC) includes everything in Level 1, PLUS outstanding charges, warrants, judicial orders, peace bonds, probation orders, and absolute/conditional discharges. It also searches local police databases.

Our recommendation: Choose Level 2. Same price ($49.99), more comprehensive results that satisfy virtually all requirements.

How long does it take to get results?

Most results are delivered in 15 minutes or less. Some cases requiring manual review may take 1-2 business days.

Is this the same as a police check from my local police station?

Yes, our checks search the same national CPIC database used by police services. The results are accepted by employers and organizations across Canada.

Can I get a Vulnerable Sector Check?

No. Vulnerable Sector Checks can only be obtained through your local police service where you reside. This is required for positions working with children, elderly, or other vulnerable persons.

What if my result shows INCOMPLETE?

An incomplete result means a possible match was found that requires fingerprint verification. You will need to complete a fingerprint-based check at an RCMP-accredited agency like Edmonton Fingerprinting Services.

What ID do I need?

Two pieces of government-issued ID, at least one with a photo. Acceptable: driver’s license, passport, health card, birth certificate, citizenship card, PR card, etc.

What is the identity verification process?

We use electronic identity verification which asks questions based on your credit file. This is NOT a credit check and does not affect your credit score. It simply verifies that you are who you say you are.

What if I fail electronic identity verification?

If electronic verification fails, you may need to complete in-person identity verification at one of our partner locations.
